The Tiny Eagles classes are specially geared toward young children who want to get started in karate. Emphasis is placed on learning respect, self-discipline, ultimate focus, and good physical health, all while having fun. Tiny Eagles are introduced to proper form and technique, as well as dojo etiquette.
The Young Eagles class teaches fundamental, age-appropriate lessons and introduces life skills like good manners, ultimate focus, and self-discipline. Students build self-confidence through positive feedback from instructors and a sense of achievement through rank advancement. The Young Eagles class takes advantage of this age group's longer attention span to further improve form and technique.
Young Eagles students are invited to join the Black Belt Club based on their enjoyment of karate, the ability to show respect, ultimate focus, and self-discipline, as well as the desire to be the very best they can be. The BBC1 class is very different from the Young Eagles class in that it continues to focus on fundamentals but concentrates on refining forms. Students begin to build the foundation of something really special, focusing on long forms (kata), sparring (kumite), self-defense, ground defense (jiu jitsu), and weapons (kobudo). BBC1 students are encouraged to take part in tournaments that kids really enjoy, and can help build both self-confidence and humility.
Once BBC1 students earn their purple belt they move on to the BBC2 class. These children have shown dedication to their training by being good role models to other students and displaying ultimate focus.
Tournament Prep classes help sharpen competition skills like kata presentation, and point sparring. The weapons/kata camps are training seminars that focus on a specific weapon or kata. These camps will be offered at various times throughout the year, and dates will generally be announced two to three weeks ahead of time.
